Base Line Year (19.3.2024 to 20.3.2025)
By 2050, we are committed to using 100% renewable energy across all company operations (e.g., solar, wind, or green energy procurement). Our plan includes working alongside our landlord to investigate, evaluate and install on-site renewable energy generation where feasible. Phase one (2025-2030) is to investigate the renewal energy options available to us for our current office and warehouse premises which have the least amount of impact on the environment. Phase two (2030-2040) to evaluate and plan required financial investment requirements to implement where feasible the best renewable energy options. Phase three (2040-2050) implement all agreed renewable energy platforms across the business.
Our long-term commitment is to progressively invest in energy-efficient technologies, including LED lighting, upgraded heating and cooling systems, automation, and building improvements. Our aim is to introduce energy efficiency improvements in line with our 20% reduction plans from 2025 and our ongoing commitment of sustainability to achieve continuous reductions.
The company is committed to moving our fleet to electric or hybrid vehicles. Phase one of our target is to have 13% of our fleet electric or hybrid by the end of 2025. Phase two is to have 46% of our fleet electric or hybrid by 2027 and Phase 3 is to have 100% of our fleet electric or hybrid by 2030.
We will work with our suppliers to introduce eco-friendly transport strategies, where we will look at optimising routes, consolidation of goods from different suppliers to reduce the number of containers being shipped, we will also work with our logistics partner introducing to actively reduce courier fuel consumption, whilst investigating the possible part transition to rail or electric cargo transport.
As a business we support where feasible remote working for our employees to reduce head office commuting and subsequent emissions. We are committed to introducing software throughout the business during 2025 to allow a significant increase in virtual meetings with global suppliers reducing the amount of travel requirements. We have established a company-wide waste reduction program that includes the reuse of cardboard boxes. We currently reuse 70% of all cardboard boxes with a goal of reusing 90% by the end of 2025 and reusing 100% by 2026. All other cardboard is recycled using dedicated onsite cardboard recycling commercial bins provided by our waste management partner. We work closely with our suppliers and partners who are committed to sustainability, reducing the carbon footprint of purchased goods and services. We conduct factory audits and work closely with our suppliers to adopt best practice.
Our aim is to work with suppliers to reduce emissions across our supply chain.
While working toward net-zero emissions, we will continue to consider investing in carbon offset programs to neutralize unavoidable emissions in the interim.
We are focused on establishing a solid foundation for long-term carbon reduction. Our objective is to Implement energy efficiency upgrades (lighting, heating), investigating renewable energy transitions (Wind, Solar), along with our fleet electrification programme to have a fully Electric/Hybrid fleet by 2030.
Our aim in this period is to gradually increase our carbon reduction efforts, where feasible expanding our renewable energy use, optimizing our supply chains, and reaching significant milestones and sustainable practices across all our operations.
During the final stages of our reduction plan, most of our operations should be close to carbon neutral. The final 10 years will focus on offsetting residual emissions through carbon credits or other mitigation technologies, while continuing to improve our overall emissions reductions.
We will set interim goals for annual reductions, targeting a 4% reduction in carbon emissions year-on-year beginning in 2025. These reductions can be achieved through a combination of energy efficiency, waste management, and sustainable procurement measures.
The 20% target for each Phase of our plan will be broken down into smaller, more manageable objectives for all areas of the business to achieve our annual reduction target of 4% starting in 2025.
Our aim is to provide our employees with regular training on sustainability practices, energy conservation, and carbon reduction.
